Oak Business School, Ogba, Ikeja, has been granted permission by Ekiti State University (EKSU) to run part-time degree programs under its auspices.

The program, which has been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), will be offered to prospective students on weekdays and weekends.

Dr. Lance Musa Elakama, the Director of Studies, believes that youths, as future leaders, need to be properly prepared to lead the country to greater heights, which influenced his decision to partner with ESKU.

Dr. Godson Agbim, the center’s administrator, said the school’s 2021/2022 academic session would begin this month with Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Marketing, and a Diploma in Law.

Students could be admitted without having to take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, he said (UTME)

“Students who are not yet qualified for direct admission can go through their Pre-degree/remedial programmes while ND or HND holders will do the top-up programme in a shorter period. Besides, students can combine full time work with qualitative part-time studies.”

He also stated that the necessary infrastructure has been put in place to ensure a smooth take-off.

Not just teachers and students, but also parents and society at general, are to blame for the poor educational standards, according to Agbim.

He expressed grave concern about a situation in which academics punish students for not purchasing handouts, students bribe lecturers to pass, and society encourages mediocrity over hard work.
