The Minister of Education, Mr. Adamu Adamu at the weekend approved the continuing preparatory takeoff of the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, Delta State, with a view to commencing academic activities in September, 2022.
Adamu, who stated this following inspection of the polytechnic site in Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government area of Delta State, said the ministry was pleased with the need for the institution to takeoff.
The Minister, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Sonny Echono, said the purpose of the visit was to evaluate the site in order for the team to coordinate and support all arrangements for a successful takeoff next year.
Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy President of the Senate, who hosted the inspection team, praised President Muhammadu Buhari for the polytechnic’s approval, noting that initiating the bill to establish the polytechnic during the 8th Senate was not a simple process.
