Senator Andrew Uchendu, Chairman of the University of Port Harcourt’s Governing Council, made the news on Friday. Senator Uchendu stated that Prof. Owunari of the Department of Pharmacology beat over twelve other candidates for the university’s top job. He stated that the council followed the provisions of the University Act on the Vice-selection. Chancellor’s “After interviewing roughly 12 applicants, we found three of them appointable, and on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, and after the report of the selection board, the council approved Professor Georgewill Owunari as the 9th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt,” he said. Muhammad Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has praised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployment strategy, which aims to prevent unqualified graduates from being mobilized. He praised the Scheme’s innovations in raising public awareness about its activities, particularly its vibrancy and high level of dedication to its relevance in national affairs. The University of Lagos has announced that 15,753 students will graduate during its 51st convocation ceremony, which will take place from July 6 to 8. Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the Institution’s Vice Chancellor, said this at a pre-convocation news conference on Wednesday in Lagos, saying that 281 of the graduates will earn first-class degrees.
