University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) Gets New Vice Chancellor

Senator Andrew Uchendu, Chairman of the University of Port Harcourt’s Governing Council, made the news on Friday. Senator Uchendu stated that Prof. Owunari of the Department of Pharmacology beat over twelve other candidates for the university’s top job. He stated that the council followed the provisions of the University Act on the Vice-selection. Chancellor’s “After interviewing roughly 12 applicants, we found three of them appointable, and on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, and after the report of the selection board, the council approved Professor Georgewill Owunari as the 9th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt,” he said. Prof. Owunari promised to keep everyone informed during his tenure as VC in a press conference following his appointment.

Jigawa State College of Education Gumel (JSCOEG) Bans Signing Out on T-Shirts

The Management of Jigawa State College of Education Gumel has been dismayed by the way and manner in which our graduating students are celebrating their exit after their final examinations, particularly the signing out on graduation T-shirts, in which male and female students openly sign out their names on each other, disregarding our community’s religion and culture, which explicitly forbids such behavior. NYSC threatens sanctions as JAMB alleges fake mobilisation certificate

Minister Lauds NYSC’s Corps Deployment Policy

Muhammad Bello, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has praised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) deployment strategy, which aims to prevent unqualified graduates from being mobilized. He praised the Scheme’s innovations in raising public awareness about its activities, particularly its vibrancy and high level of dedication to its relevance in national affairs. 281 to Bag First Class as University of Lagos (UNILAG) Graduates 15,753

The University of Lagos has announced that 15,753 students will graduate during its 51st convocation ceremony, which will take place from July 6 to 8. Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the Institution’s Vice Chancellor, said this at a pre-convocation news conference on Wednesday in Lagos, saying that 281 of the graduates will earn first-class degrees.
