NABTEB stands for National Business and Technical Examination Board. It was established by the federal government of Nigeria in 1992 to give room for technical and business-related certifications.
This board conducts the following examinations: National Technical Examination (NTC), National Business Certificate (NBC), Modular Trade Certificate (MTC), Advanced National Technical Examination (ANTC), and Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC).

To be eligible for an ANBC or ANTC Certificate, students must have passed their O’level NABTEB examination.
The NABTEB A-Level Certificate is equivalent to an NCE or ND certificate. It is also listed as one of the degrees that can be used to enter for a direct-entry admission into a university in Nigeria.
