This is to advise all prospective Corps members that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Management has set the start date for the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course.
The Scheme’s management has planned the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation course to begin on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, across the country.
The NYSC 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course will begin in all NYSC Orientation Camps on the following dates:
- Commencement / Registration – Tuesday, 18th May 2021.
- The cut-off date for Registration – 12 Midnight, Saturday, 22 May 2021.
- Swearing-In Ceremony – Monday, 24th May 2021.
- Closing Ceremony: Tuesday, 7th June 2021
Before registering for the Corps, all prospective members must take the COVID-19 examination at the camp.
Prospective Corps members must complete the COVID-19 Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) self-reprinting form and print the verification slip before taking the COVID-19 test in camp.
Prospective Corps Members designated for the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course should report to their respective Camps as indicated on their Call-up Letters. Foreign-trained graduates must bring their International Passport as well as original copies of all uploaded documentation to the camp.
In addition to other essential documents, the National Diploma (ND) Certificate will be presented.
Prospective Corps Members of Mono / Polytechnic will be required to submit a National Diploma (ND) Certificate, as well as other essential documents, as a condition of registration at Orientation Camps across the country.
Prospective Corps Members are strongly urged not to bring any forged documents to the Orientation Camp for registration. Management has put in place the necessary equipment to crack down on offenders and penalize those who are caught.
In the case that the prospective Corps Member who received the Call-up Letter from his or her institution loses it, he or she should get a Police Report and a Sworn Affidavit.
In the case that the prospective Corps Member who received the Call-up Letter from his or her institution loses it, the prospective Corps Member is encouraged to seek a police report and a sworn affidavit, and then report to the institution of graduation for further action. Those who printed their Call-up Letters online can reprint them in the event that they are lost.
The provisions of Section 13 sub-section 1(a) and (b) of the NYSC Act, Cap. N84, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 apply to anyone who fails to report for service in the Service Corps as ordered in the Call-up Letter and/or refuses to make himself available for service in the Service Corps.
In addition, anyone who is not eligible to join the Service Corps.
Also, anyone who participates or attempts to engage in the Service Corps despite not being eligible or having been officially awarded a Certificate of National Service or Certificate of Exemption would be prosecuted in accordance with Section 13 Subsection 2(a) and (b) of the NYSC Act Cap N84, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Prospective Corps Members must strictly adhere to all preventive measures and use the provisions offered on camp for hand washing, etc. in accordance with COVID-19 procedures. As a result, each Prospective Corps Member is expected to bring enough face masks and personal pocket-size hand sanitizer to camp.
