In Nigeria ND means National Diploma. It was originally referred to as Ordinary National Diploma (OND). This is the first part of a Polytechnic Education in Nigeria. Very often, students apply for this diploma as a second choice of Higher Education in Nigeria.
The duration of an ND is typically between 2 years and 3 years. Often times, this duration is not exactly so, because of strike, carry-overs, and so on.
There are two study modes for an ND in Nigeria: Part-time and Full-time. A part-time ND on one hand usually takes 3 years to complete. This means that the students do not go to class every day, and only take a few courses at once.
The full-time ND on the other hand usually takes up to 2 years, because students are able to finish their coursework in time for graduation, as they have classes regularly.
ND Certificates
An ND Certificate is awarded to a student as a proof of their completion of a full-time or part-time course of study. This certificate usually shows the student’s name, course of study, class of graduation, and award year. It is a student’s right to request their certificate from their institution.
ND Statement of Result
A statement of result is states that a student has completed course work from the institution. Some institutions issue a letter as a statement of result, while some issue it as a record of the students marks and grades. Another name for statement of result is Notification of Result.
