Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu promised to offer over 7000 pupils bursaries as part of his 100-day festivities. At a news conference in Akure on Monday to announce programs marking Mr Akeredolu’s 100 days in office, Oladunni Odu, the Secretary to the State Government, stated this. On February 24, Akeredolu was sworn in for a second term.
According to Mrs Odu, medical and law students will be given N50,000 each, while other students would be paid N10,000 each. According to the SSG, the action would assist students in achieving academic success, and 1,200 newly employed primary school teachers would be admitted and trained.
According to the SSG, 720 widows will receive N5000 each, with 40 from each of the 18 Local Governments being chosen. Mrs. Odu went on to announce that Governor Akeredolu would honor his 100 days in office by launching a host of projects around the state.
Despite the fact that just a few of the projects were carried over to Akeredolu’s second term, she noted that many more had been completed in the previous 100 days. She also stated that the foundation will be set for a new Government House lodge, as the current ones are dilapidated and uninhabitable.
The SSG explained that the free shuttle buses used to carry secondary school students had broken down and were therefore off the road when asked why they had vanished.
“We all know that the buses were working very well but sometimes, like every machine, they break down and we are trying to fix it, “she said.
