Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced a 25% cut in tuition fees for students at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomosho.

The governor made the news during a brief engagement with pupils in the Ogbomosho High School auditorium on Tuesday.

While making the announcement, Makinde stated that the 25% reduction was applied across the board. Despite the fact that LAUTECH’s tuition prices were the lowest among the country’s state-owned universities, he claimed that “but I have approved your demand on the tuition fees reduction.”

The governor also committed to prioritize the institution’s needs in order to improve the school’s academic program. saying that “never again will a four-year programme turn to eight-year programme in the school.”
