Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi has been appointed as the substantive Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examination Council by President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).Wushishi is the first Niger State native to be selected to the council’s leadership.Professor Godswill Obioma, who died around two months ago, was succeeded by him. On Monday, newsmen in Minna were given a statement announcing the new Registrar’s appointment.The appointment is for an initial period of five years, commencing July 12, 2021, according to the letter, which bears the reference number FME/PSE/NECO/1078/C.1/36. Before his appointment, the new appointee was a Professor of Science Education at the Federal University of Technology Minna in Niger state, according to a statement signed by Azeez Sani, the Head of Public Relations and Information. Professor Wushishi is the first Niger state native to be appointed as NECO’s substantive Registrar. Professor Wushishi was born on April 5, 1965, in the Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, and worked as a lecturer at Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, before transferring to the Federal University of Technology, Minna. He has also held positions in the education sector, including Post Graduate Coordinator, Department of Science Education, Federal University of Technology, Minna; Sub-Dean School of Science and Science Education, FUT, Minna; Head of Department, Department of Science Education, FUT Minna; Head of Department, Department of Science Education, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai; and Head of Department, Department of Science Education, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
