According to Abdullahi Abdullahi, Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications, the appointment of the new VC followed the Council’s assessment of the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board recommendations during the Council’s Special Meeting on Friday.

His appointment, which is set to begin on December 1, 2021, is for a single five-year term.
The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor is a Professor of Computer Science with a foundation in Mathematics and specialization and experience in Data Engineering, Computer Security, and Forensics.
