NECO releases 2020 SSCE results for external candidates

The results of the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination for external applicants have been published by the National Examinations Council, or NECO. Prof. Godswill Obioma, the Registrar/Chief Executive of the council, announced the results yesterday at the council headquarters in Minna, Niger State. He said a total of 41,459 candidates registered for the test, with 39,503 sitting for it. According to Professor Obioma, a total of 26,277 candidates received five credits or higher, including English Language and Mathematics, while 34,014 candidates received five credits or higher, regardless of English Language and Mathematics. Professor Obioma revealed that in the examination, 6,465 cases of examination malpractice were registered, compared to 17,004 cases in 2019. SSANU warns of another strike in varsities

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has issued an alert that another strike is on the way through the country’s universities. It blamed the President for the ongoing university strike, threatening that employees and numerous unions would go on strike again soon unless the right things were done. While presenting its memoranda to the school’s visitation council, the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike kw (AE-FUNAI) chapter of SSANU issued the alert. The AE-FUNAI SSANU chairman, Emma Chigbata, presented the association’s memorandum to the panel’s Chairman, Amb Usman Sariki, and claimed that the country’s university system is dying. Lagos schools, pupils shine at Maltina school games

The Lagos State team shone brightest at the Maltina School Games Competition, winning the overall Best State award with 21 gold, 15 silver, and five bronze medals. The awards were given to students from Ijaiye Housing Junior and Senior Secondary School, as well as Euba Junior Secondary School.
